Account mappings standardize different entity charts of accounts into one reporting structure. Each local account should point to the group account that represents the same economic meaning.

Open account mappings

In Control, open . The grid shows local accounts by entity and their mapped group account. Use the filters to focus on inactive accounts, accounts with transaction activity, or unmapped rows.

Map accounts manually

  1. Find the local account.
  2. Select the correct group account in the mapping column.
  3. Save the edited row if the grid does not save it automatically.
  4. Confirm that the mapped group account now appears on the row.
Use the account’s meaning—not only its number. Different entities may use different ranges or names for the same type of income, expense, asset, or liability.

Use AI-assisted mapping

If AI mapping is enabled:
  1. Select specific rows, or leave the selection empty to target all visible unmapped accounts.
  2. Choose Map selected or Auto-map … unmapped.
  3. Review every suggestion.
  4. Accept only the mappings that match your reporting policy.
Accepted suggestions update the local-to-group mapping. They are not merely labels or temporary report filters.
AI suggestions are proposals. Review high-impact balance-sheet, tax, payroll, intercompany, and revenue accounts carefully before accepting them.

Create missing group accounts

Use Generate Group Accounts when the group chart itself is incomplete. Review the suggested group accounts and the local accounts proposed for each one before applying. If an appropriate group account already exists, map to it instead of creating a duplicate.

Correct a mapping

Edit the same local account row and choose a different group account. The new mapping affects reports that use that group account after the relevant data is recalculated or refreshed. For a larger correction:
  1. Filter the grid to the relevant entity or account range.
  2. Select the affected rows.
  3. Apply or review suggestions in a controlled batch.
  4. Validate the result in a closed reporting period.

Export and review mappings

Choose Export CSV to download the chart of accounts with entity and group-account information. Use the export for offline review, audit evidence, or comparison—not as an upload template. The current view does not provide a matching CSV import action.

Troubleshooting

A mapped account appears unmapped again

Confirm that:
  • You are viewing the same entity and local account.
  • The mapping save completed successfully.
  • A later sync did not introduce another local account with the same number or name.
  • Filters are not hiding the mapped row and showing a different unmapped row.
If the same local account ID repeatedly loses its saved mapping, report it to Control with the entity, account number, and approximate time of the change.

Reports do not change immediately

Mappings and report calculations are separate operations. Wait for any active processing to complete, refresh the report, and verify the same period and entity filters.
