Enable AI and choose a processing policy

AI features are disabled by default for new organizations. An organization admin must explicitly opt in before Control accepts AI-processing requests.

Opt in during onboarding

In Step 1: Enable AI features:

1. Select Default AI or EU-only AI.
2. Review the processing description for that policy.
3. Turn on Enable AI features.

Control saves the selected organization policy before activating AI. Selecting a policy by itself does not enable AI.

Compare the policies

Policy	Processing behavior
Default AI	Prioritizes feature quality and may use approved global AI providers and limited web search when needed. Personal data may be processed outside the EU/EEA under applicable transfer safeguards.
EU-only AI	Keeps AI inference on approved EU routes and disables general web search. Features without a reliable EU-only result return limited or unresolved output instead of falling back to Default AI.

The selected policy applies organization-wide.

Change or disable AI later

Organization admins can open Settings → AI and automation to:

• turn AI features off or on;
• review the active organization policy; or
• switch between Default AI and EU-only AI.

Turning AI off prevents new AI-processing requests for the organization. Turning it on again requires an explicit admin action and uses the selected organization policy.
