Use Control’s marketplace connector for read-only consolidated financial reporting in a supported
AI client. The connector is available only after Control appears in that client’s public directory.
You do not need to copy a server URL or enter a workspace identifier.
Before you connect
You need:
- a supported client that shows Control in its connector directory;
- a Control account; and
- a Control workspace with a synchronized accounting source for financial results.
You can select an existing workspace or start workspace creation during authorization. If its
accounting data is not ready, Control sends you to first-party setup. Enter accounting credentials
only in Control, never in an AI prompt or connector field.
Connect from the directory
- Open the connector or plugin directory in ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude.
- Select the verified Control listing and start the connection.
- Review the requested read-only access, then continue to Control.
- Sign in or create a Control account.
- Select the workspace the connector may access, or create one.
- Approve the connection and return to the AI client.
- If Control reports that setup or synchronization is required, complete the linked steps in
Control and retry after synchronization finishes.
Menu labels vary by client. Start the connection from the directory again if authorization expires
or the browser does not return to the client.
What the marketplace connector can access
The initial marketplace connector provides nine read-only tools for:
- consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, functional P&L, and custom-report actuals;
- monthly consolidated cash flow;
- entities, statement layouts, group accounts, and reporting dimensions; and
- discovering available budget or forecast metadata.
The connector remains bound to the workspace selected during authorization. A prompt, tool
argument, URL parameter, or request header cannot switch it to another workspace.
What is not available
The initial marketplace connector cannot:
- create or change journal entries, transactions, mappings, budgets, integrations, or other
financial data;
- return transaction, counterparty, invoice, or receipt details;
- connect an accounting source inside the AI client; or
- retrieve budget-versus-actual values. It can only discover which budgets or forecasts exist.
Use Control directly for workflows outside this read-only reporting scope.
Try a first question
Start with a bounded question that you can compare with Control:
- “Show the consolidated P&L for June 2025 and compare it with May 2025.”
- “Summarize the consolidated balance sheet as of June 30, 2025.”
- “Show monthly consolidated cash flow from January through June 2025.”
- “Which budgets and forecasts are available in this workspace?”
If the client cannot answer, first ask it to list the available entities. That distinguishes an
empty or still-synchronizing workspace from an unsupported request.
Change or remove access
Disconnect Control in the AI client’s connector settings. Reconnect and select the intended
workspace if you need to change workspaces. If the client still shows access after disconnection,
contact Control support with the client name, approximate time, and redacted error text.
Never paste access tokens, authorization codes, PKCE values, passwords, accounting credentials, financial exports, or
unredacted screenshots into prompts or support requests.
